Ants & Wood-Destroying Pests

Carpenter ants love BC moisture. We don't.

Carpenter ants, pavement ants and the occasional termite all thrive in damp wood. We trace the colony, treat it, and help you fix the moisture issue feeding it.

Warning signs of structural damage

Carpenter ants don't eat wood — they hollow it out to nest. Look for small piles of sawdust-like frass near baseboards, large winged "swarmers" in spring, and faint rustling inside walls at night.

How we treat it

Spraying a trail with a repellent product just splits the colony and makes the problem worse. We use slow-acting, non-repellent products that workers carry back to the nest — eliminating the queen and ending the colony. Where possible, we identify and treat the parent nest outside, not just the satellite inside your wall.

Prevention that actually works

  • Trim vegetation back from siding and rooflines
  • Fix leaks in gutters, downspouts and crawlspace plumbing
  • Move firewood and bark mulch away from the foundation
  • Seal cracks where utility lines enter the building
